MrBeast one of YouTubes biggest stars faces a 54-page lawsuit
Jimmy Donaldson, aka MrBeast a well known influencer mostly known for his generous acts towards strangers is now having to face a 54-page lawsuit.
'Beast Games'
Jimmy Donaldson, aka MrBeast has been hard at work creating his new Prime Video show Beast Games Billed as the largest ever reality competition series were 2,000 contestants are to compete for a £3.7m ($5m) prize when the show airs - or if it even ends up airing. The lawsuit has managed to put the show into a crisis.
Five female contestants on the upcoming Prime Video show are launching legal action against his production company MrB2024 and Amazon in Los Angeles.
Many pages have been redacted, but the legal document includes allegations that they "particularly and collectively suffered" in an environment that "systematically fostered a culture of misogyny and sexism".
This has been a big surprise as MrBeast's core image is being one of the nicest guys on the internet.
Contestants have also claimed to have been "Underfed and Overtired" and not receiving critical medication on time. The lawsuit seeks for damages for alleged mistreatment.
Contestants on the show range from "GenZ" to the age of 82. One of the eliminated contestants, Janae Reidy who was part of the show for one day before her team was eliminated stated that, for dinner "I had gotten a hard-boiled egg, two slices of cucumber and basically one-third of a stick of celery that was cut into thirds, two carrot sticks, and a quarter cup of plain oatmeal," she says water was not available at request of the contestant but instead they were given cans of Liquid Death, a water and iced tea company and MrBeast's own chocolate bar, Feastables. They were recorded drinking the water for sponsored content and snacking on the chocolate bars.
One of the contestants who wish to remain anonymous said that the staff were disorganized and that they waited for more than two hours to get their medication they provided to the staff.
It is reported that one of the teams teammates fell and got caught in the rope. Two contestants say the rope got tangled around someone's neck. "Production was yelling at the people that were behind the ones that fell to keep pulling, and they didn't, they stopped," Reidy says. "They helped get the other people out of the rope, because they didn't want to hurt them.
According to the New York Times, more than a dozen people were injured while filming the first portion of the show. One contestant told the Times that she left the show bleeding and bruised, and Times publication reports that allegedly multiple were hospitalised.
After a team was eliminated they were offered a $1,000 consolation prize, but an anonymous contestant reports she "Immediately sensed that the offer was fake." Once they made their way to the backstage area, members of the production took the money back and said they will receive their real money at a later date. It is unknown if they have received the money yet.
The internet is eager to hear MrBeasts reply on the matter.
